Oct. 4th Meeting Minutes
Meeting Two Minutes
The second Collegiate 4-H meeting of the year, led by Vice President Jessica Grippo, began at 7:00 p.m. on October 4, 2005.
The first order of business was to appoint Jessica Van Sayoc and Lauren Pfister as co-Ag Council Representatives, and Chrissy Mamone to maintain the club website. Our 2005-2006 Officer Team is now complete!
Molly Joustra read the minutes from the previous meeting before discussion of the club’s plans for the year commenced. On October 20, we will volunteer alongside Sigma Alpha at the Waldo Fall Festival. Another service idea, to collect food for the homeless as a Halloween event, is in the making. 4-Her’s may also be volunteering time at the local Humane Society.
Club members then signed up to order t-shirts and polos. The logos are completed and the shirts should look great! If you are interested in a shirt and/or polo but were unable to attend the meeting, be sure to let Jessica Grippo know.
Fundraising, which will include a Gator Idol competition and candy sales, will begin soon.
Officers are no longer attending the Regional Collegiate 4-H Conference, but are planning to attend the National Conference in Ohio February 23-26, 2006. The club will further discuss plans for the conference at future meetings.
Another important item discussed is the Family and 4-H Initiative, which is legislation which would greatly benefit the 4-H program. It is vital that club members work to gain support from Florida Legislators. Information about this issue can be obtained from Dr. Marilyn Norman, or at the next meeting.
The meeting was adjourned (after being properly moved, seconded and voted on) at 7:43 p.m. We will meet again on November 1 at 7:00 p.m. See you there!
Respectfully Yours,
Molly Joustra
Collegiate 4-H Secretary
