CALS Semester Study Abroad
Students will enroll at an institution of higher education as part of a formal study abroad program sponsored by the University of Florida. In some cases where home stays or internships are part of the academic program, students will also get first hand experience outside of the traditional classroom setting in the host nation. Students who participate in study abroad programs gain the following benefits:
- The student earns degree-accruing credit hours if he/she enrolls at the University of Florida and providing that the courses completed at the international institution are approved in advance.
- The student's financial aid package remains in place as long as the student enrolls for the appropriate number of credits at the University of Florida.
- Long term study abroad meets the requirements for the CALS Certificate in International Studies and may complete most of the requirements for a Minor in International Studies.
