Welcome to the off-campus program for the University of Florida College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) at Fort Lauderdale. Being an off-campus student offers special opportunities for CALS students. As an off-campus student, you can stay in your current location while working toward a degree or pursuing courses for professional development.
Students at this location may pursue undergraduate degrees in Environmental Horticulture Operations, Landscape and Nursery Horticulture, Turfgrass Science and Entomology . These programs are delivered to students at the UF/ IFAS Fort Lauderdale Research and Education Center (FLREC) which is located in Davie, FL.
Students enrolled in the FLREC Off-Campus program attend on-site classes taught by outstanding faculty at research and education centers who are recognized as leaders in their fields of study. Like any university setting, faculty, staff, and facilitators are on hand to interact with students and provide quality student services. Matriculated students at off-campus programs have the full rights and privileges offered to other University of Florida students. FLREC learning environment includes a library and laboratories.
Students work hand-in-hand with faculty and the FLREC student services coordinator. The faculty and coordinators provide guidance and advising through the admissions process, registration, and other student service functions. The faculty and staff of the CALS off-campus program in Ft. Lauderdale are dedicated to providing a positive learning environment.
