Transfer Admissions
Students may seek admission to UF as transfers from other colleges and universities.
Lower-Division
Students applying to UF with more than 12, but less than 60, hours earned since graduating high school are considered lower-division transfer students. Students applying as lower-division transfers will be evaluated by the Office of Admissions. This path is viewed as highly competitive and admission is offered to a limited number of students.
Upper-Division
Students applying to UF with 60 hours or more transferable college credit are considered upper-division transfer students and will be evaluated by the college that houses the major the student is applying for.
Transfer Requirements
To transfer into CALS from a community college, university or public college, a student must:
- Complete 60 hours of transferable college credit
An Associate of Arts degree is preferred for students applying from a Florida public community college. Please note the college will not accept Associate of Science degrees or coursework deemed vocational. - Earn at least a 2.0 overall GPA at all institutions attended
- Meet the university's foreign language requirement
Students must have two-years of sequential foreign language in high school or 8-10 sequential semester hours at the post-secondary level. The official high school or college transcript or documentation of an equivalent level of proficiency must be included with your admission application materials. - Meet the required GPA for the major, overall GPA and Critical Tracking GPA.
- Complete specific prerequisite courses for the major prior to transfer
Application Deadlines
CALS accepts students for the fall, spring and summer semesters. Students must apply by the established deadline.
