Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to be enrolled full-time?
Scholarship recipients, with the exception of Florida Rural Rehabilitation Corporation Off-Campus Scholarship recipients, must be enrolled full-time during the semesters during which they receive awards. If you are graduating in a particular semester and require less than full-time enrollment to complete your degree, you may be granted an exception by the CALS Dean's Office.
How do I renew my scholarship?
Undergraduate scholarships are renewable so long as the recipient reapplys each academic year and maintains minimum GPA and full-time enrollment status.
What is the minimum GPA required to receive a scholarship?
Nearly all scholarships awarded by the CALS Dean's Office require a minimum 3.0 GPA.
When will I find out if I received a scholarship?
Ten freshman scholars will be notified prior to May 1. All other scholarship recipients, including additional freshmen, will be notified via USPS and email in late July or early August.
When will I receive my funds?
Funds are disbursed 5-6 weeks after the start of the semester.
How can I support CALS students through scholarships?
Donors may elect to give to the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences General Scholarship Fund. If a donor wishes to establish his or her own scholarship endowment, they should contact IFAS Advancement.
Student scholarship and awards recipients are recognized at the CALS Scholarship and Leadership Awards Banquet each April.
