The University Scholars Programusp

The University Scholars Program (USP) introduces undergraduate students to the exciting world of academic research. Students work one-on-one with UF faculty on selected research projects, and receive a stipend of $2500 to defray costs associated with research. The University Scholars Program is highly recommended for students in the CALS Honors Program, or any student looking for an exceptional capstone experience to the academic career. Prospective applicants please note that CALS does not impose any rquirements above and beyond those of the USP program in general. Also note that even if you are a CALS student, you apply to USP through the college of your faculty mentor. In other words, a student majoring in Food Science and Human Nutrition (CALS major) who chooses to work with a faculty member in the College of Medicine on a nutrition project would apply through the College of Medicine, not CALS.

Application are due on or near March 1 each year at the address listed below. Applications are reviewed by the CALS Honors Advisory Committee, and students are notified of their selection in late March or early April.
